snapping a mesh to the axis

im creating a character in blender and i have move my mesh off the axis, im guessing there is a way to do this but i cant find it on the internet. anyways, can anyone tell me how to snap my head mesh back to the x axis so i can still use the mirror modifier?

Once you have something selected, press G to grab/move it and press X or Y or Z to move it on such axis.

Another could be in object mode use Transform Location numbers on N-panel for some axis. Shift key makes numbers change slower…
If mirror is not applied yet, drop that modifier, in edit mode select loop closest to center and set Origin there in object mode. Then Shift -S cursor to center and Shift-S Selection to cursor. From there you can use mirror again.
