I have a pretty big sculpt (40 million vertices) and I want to do the retopology, but the snapping does not work. On other objects it does work though. Can the issue be my high vertices count? Don’t know what to do, when trying a decimate modifier blender crushes…
That might be exactly the cause because blender can’t “decide” where to snap (?) and when crashing using the decimate modifer then it’s simply too much. (Also depends on your RAM.)
Maybe you can try remesh or split your object ??
I thought the same way! So I tried to scale the model and applying the scale, and it doesn’t work either. Can’t split (blender crushes when entering the edit mode) and also can’t use remesh… the only one hope is for retopology, but I really don’t know what’s the problem
Wanna try importing my model to zbrush and making the retopology there, I read that it has better performance with high poly models
