Snapping selected vertices (or vertex group) in edit mode as in object mode

Is it possible to snap selected vertices (or vertex group) in edit mode such that the vertices maintain their relationship (don’t collapse as in object mode) and their active vertex winds up coincident with the cursor?

Currently, I go to edit mode, select and separate the vertices to be moved, object mode, select the new object, edit mode, cursor to desired coincident position or vertex, object mode, set their origin to the cursor, place the cursor as desired, snap selection to cursor, and finally rejoin the two objects and merge by distance to delete identicals.

Is there an easier way? Maybe a script? Thx

Read the Manual…

Select in edit mode then press Y. Now the selection is loose. Move and use snapping to relocate it. Make sure Snap with Active is selected.

Snap with Active

Notice how I double clicked a vertex to make it the active one?
In case you dont know yet… You can leave Snapping off, then hold down CTRL while moving to temporarily activate Snapping.
