Project “Snowstorm” (codename, not the official name) is a first person shooter,
running on the blender game engine. It takes place in the near future, about 2 years from now.
You are an american soldier, guarding a diplomatic person.
The next day you wake up in a locked storage room.
You need to try to escape and save the other hostages.
In the game there will be various russian weapons.
The scenery will be arctic and indoor.

This is a road I did.
The cool thing is that the snow keeps repeating without getting repetitive, and the road will allways match up with the snow without seams.
Nodes are magic!
I can also reveal serveral weapons in the game.
the Makarov,
the AKM,
the RPD,
and serveral other Russian guns.
Thats it for now.
Please leave a comment, ask questions if you want!
Gameplay and Performance are main focuses in this project.
What you see here is a flowgraph that presents how the player should move when it is facing an obstacle.
just thought I’d mention that we’re still going strong on this project, getting the main story down making assets for the game and what not, nothing to really show the public just yet
You should press Control+A in the UVeditor in order to get the correct space/scale uv’s, you can notice this by using a uvtestgrid image in the object.
In the texture maps (dif, nor, spec) the hands area looks a little big and there are some wasted areas, keep in mind that avoiding that will help in the game performance
Ahh, hello old friend, I would certainly help out, but I am afraid I wouldn’t be able to contribute much to the team, as I am also busy with my own project.
However, if you need something done and there’s nobody else to do it, just give me a shout! I would be glad to help :]
fantastic work guys, very excited to see your work.
The snow scenes just twigged an almost unrelated idea in my head, so i have to go write some thing down… and that lighting plant! looks fairly simple, but wow! love it! keep it up!
