so here’s the plan: I buy halo 2 on november 9th…finish it BEFORE HL2 come out…then I buy HL2 and finish it…then go back to halo2 & keep playing hl2 alltogether 
i’ve already bought hl2, waiting for it to be unlocked. I highly recommend steam purchase, it is painless (<5 min). And i am playing CS:S presently.
meanwhile i will keepplaying 1996 classic Transport Tycoon.

I am not a real big fan of FPS games but I think probably Deus Ex and Hl1 were two of the best games I ever played. I don’t think I could decide which one I liked better though.
I can’t wait to play HL2. I just hope it gets released for OSX.

Must - have - halflife 2 - must have it…NOW!
I’ve got so many memories built up over this game,
might as well share them with you:
About 6 years ago (or so) when halflife where released
I was blown away by the sheer “exitement” over the
build-up of the game. Introduced as a “worker” in the
Black-Mesa facility and where able to listen to the
various workers around in the building…
And the plot where nothing short of fantastic…
…while beeing able to move around freely…
doing things in random order…things where
still to come…the betrayal of “my” fellow scientist
and the excitement over the “story” that unveiled
as I played the game. It was unlike other games…
it was like beeing in a movie…living the movie.
The intelligence of the attacking millitary commands,
and their tactics (however lame)…still exciting and
by far superior to other games of that time (AI)
added to the gameplay. Furthermore one could
listen to their radio-communication and further
verify “our” suspicion of a conspiracy because of
the things “we” hear from the soldiers. Very exiting.
Another aspect of this game that added to my
memories of this time…where the multiplayer
enviroment - starting with halflife as a multiplayer
game that I introduced to my friends and we played
endlessly for years to come. Not to mention the add-ons
of counter-strike that soon become a legendary never-
ending online game played by millions of people every
where.
Needless to say…this game has shaped me and
my memories, and I can’t WAIT to get my hands
on the follow up…now…many years later.

and some of the maps look so darn…REAL!
I did when the Beta was out, but now i am planing to buy the Steam package with HL2 CS:S and HL:S … Wohhoo!

Alltaken: Transport Tycoon is one of the best games ever made (-: But… I fully expect half life two to be the best FPS (maybe next to HL)
How is counter strike source. Is it a big improvement or not that much. I am going to have to pick between half-life 2 and halo 2 I am too cheap to buy both one right after another.

Warez is one thing, but what these guys did in releasing a smuggled copy is inhumanly low. They’re pure shit and I don’t exactly value anyone who plays the beta much more…
I’d have to agree with carmack’s response to the emails he recieved about how bad it was, how buggy it was, how people couldn’t get it to work, and how they were now not going to buy the game
essentially that:
1: they are stupid for asking
2: it is still in beta, and an illegal leak
3: something derived from 1, and probably their age
unfortunately, I can’t remember what exactly he said, and am too lazy [this late at night] to check the quakecon vids to find out
