Soft Bodies & Wieghts


I’ve recently tried using soft bodies and everything seems to work great, except that changing the weights on the object’s points doesn’t seem to do anything. I’m still trying simple stuff, like making a plane warp when it falls on to a cube. When I try to make one side of the plane stay stiff and in it’s original position, (with the rest of the plane swinging down) the weight paint color changes to red, but the entire plane continues to fall. Does anyone know how I can correct this?

Have you made sure that you’ve assigned the vertex group with the weights to the goal value of the softbody?


Yes, I have. I’ve also checked with a couple tutorials to check if I missed something, and to my knowledge, I haven’t.

Have you assign “Use Goal” to a vertex group?
