Soft body issues

I’m trying to create a soft body “blob” posing as ketchup and then I drop few fries on it to make it look like some leftovers from a burger joint.

The ketchup blob is a flattened sphere howering just above the plane, so it should just become more flattened and make a comfortable “bed” for the fries. Unfortunately the blob begins to crawl upwards and in later frames it runs around like it’s chased by demons :smile:

How can I fix this and does anyone know a good reference for soft body physics explaining what each parameter does (preferably with examples)?
