Soft body

Hi all,

Ive made a serious go at Blender for the first time. I’m a fail GD artist. Now I look to create something for fun. As part of learning Blender I aim to animate one dinosaur(for the admiration of my son) but I do expect to know alot of the Blender animation at completion.
I’ve created a low res mesh and I’m movinf onto giving it armatures, I understand the process but not sure if I should do soft body vertices first then rig up the armature???
I do appreciate any help. Also BLENDER is awesome!!!

hmm…
well.
considering you have a son, you must have a job.
soooo…
you could buy a few blender 3d books off of amazon…

You need to RIG first. After the rig, Create a “vertice group” with the vertices that will be FIXED and Will not be affected by the softbody. In the softbody modifier panel, use the option “Use Goal” and select the group of vertices that you created. Also the softbody need to be after the armature modifier to work.
The vertices that you want to “soft” must be free from the armature, when you do the rig you need to think in what vertices you want to move with softbody and leave then free from the bones influences…
I hope it help you, softbody and rig are complex to explain in few lines…
(sorry by my english)
