Softbody flying through air & deforming

Hello blender artists! This is my first post.
I’m making a simple animation (letter acting jiggly/wobbly, while flying through the air). You can see the result I want inside my old flash game here (intro, letters flying onto the screen).
Screenshot here.

I did that old animation in 3D studio max. V4 probably
Things have changed.
I figured I should use Soft Body & Physics.
But I don’t want the body colliding, I just want it to be rubber/jello like while it’s flying and suddenly stopping in its place.

After 2 days of tutorials & googling, I decided to ask for help here.
I can make my text (or any mesh for that matter) collide and deform, but I want it to deform while flying. No success :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you in advance for any help kind sirs & ladies.

I would add an empty or 2 and apply Force Field, turbulence then parent the empty to the Text.

Follow this tutorial from Lazy Tutorials and you can use your text as the bag in the animation…
Soft-Body

Bake your physics, duplicate your object, apply modifier to duplicate at appropriate frame, keyframe visibility of objects?

Thanks for the ideas guys. I don’t understand the concepts here
I’m a beginner in Blender. Worked in 3ds max, cinema… before. Wanted to learn/move to blender but I guess not yet.

I did what I need in Cinema 4d. Modifier is called Jiggle and it simply does all I need.
Blender seems overly complicated for this effect to me.
