This is my attempt at creating a Sun in Space inside of Blender. Any thoughts or feedback for improvement?
A star with that active a chromosphere and corona would likely not have such a hard-edged limb, and some limb darkening would be in order. The large prominences could use a little more structure, they often show distinct filaments, arcs, spikes, etc. The color is perhaps too yellow – large, very active stars tend to be either blue-white or much more reddish, due to the details of stellar evolution. Yellow is a very moderate color temperature, like Goldilock’s porridge, not too hot, not too cool, and is favored by less active stars such as our Sun. If you are portraying our Sun, I think it a bit too active, and the prominences too large for activity all over the disk.
