Its about 4 million triangles right now. After retopo, I hope to reach 10k quads.

Great high-poly model so far! Any progress getting it game ready?
I am mainly asking, since it would fit great into the open-source game I am prototyping currently… so is it already “taken” for another game or could you consider a creative commons release on Blenderswap?
P.S.: scale up the helmet a bit, it is really squeezing that poor man’s scull right now 
P.P.S.: If it is for a game, I would suggest to make the “props” (bags, helmet, sunglasses etc.) separable from the main body to have it a bit modular in game.
Just out of curiosity, did you bother to give the soldier eyes underneath his glasses? For anybody who might know the answer, what is the rule of thumb for designing characters with their eyes covered?

I don’t think I can share this model. There’s just too much of a time investment for me.
Progress is looking like this. I have the pants baked to a low poly mesh and I’m starting the vest mesh now.
I do plan on keeping everything modular. Ideally, I would have to model the eyes, which I haven’t yet. But yeah, definitely do that for some more security later on.

I’ve also been working on some other things that have been keeping me busy.
Nice update, the helmet could be still a tad bigger, and the pants are maybe a little too tight fitting for the typical military guy.
Otherwise, if you aren’t planning to share it, do you have some other plans for it?
Maybe we can work out a deal somehow, as I would really like to see it actually in an open-source game instead of “rotting” in your portfolio… PM me and we can talk.
P.S.: That neck protection thing would probably need to be a bit more loose/lower to properly work with an animated head movement. And in general I think the head is a bit to high (think of where is naked shoulders would be and you see that he has a very long neck right now).
I like the flex-cuffs bundled next to his camelbak. Nice detail.
