Hey,
I made a number of objects using different materials sharing the same UV-map in a .blend to serve as an object-repository. On importing them into another .blend, they create sequentially numbered ghost copies of the uv-map.

Clicking the ‘x’ next to the ‘ecxess’ UV-maps, saving and re-opening doesn’t seem to work and changing the UV-map on every object isn’t an option for me with 20, 50, XY imported objects.
I remember the same thing happening to me a few years back. Back then I worked around the problem by deleting the uv-texture before saving the repository.blend and remapping them in the final .blend. It wasn’t much more efficieant than the solution I described in the last paragraph but at least it seemed to make the procedure a little more organized, tidy. Can anyone think of a better solution?
Thanks!
Marco
