[solved] Parenting question

I’ve got a question concerning parenting, at least I suppose it has something to do with parenting. I’ve got two objects and I want to move one of them while the other one is supposed to follow it, but - and that’s the problem - only in one axis, the other two axes should not be affected. If you understand what I mean, I’d like to know if there is a possibilty in Blender to do this or if one need to use Python for this?

Many thanks in advance!

What you’re looking for is a constraint. Have a look at what’s available in Constraints Properties. You’re probably going to be best served with the Copy Location constraint.

Thanks a lot! I’ll try that

edit: wow, great, that’s simple

Glad it worked out for you. I’m going to take the liberty of marking this thread as solved. In the future, you can do that yourself by editing the title of your original post in Advanced Mode.
