Not actually a question, because I just now figured it out, but I thought I’d post the solution in case someone else has the same problem.
I hadn’t sculpted in a couple of weeks and when I started it up, it was very slow. After looking at my Task Manager, I noticed that a couple of Adobe Reader processes were eating up almost 80% of my CPU. Task Manager was no longer responding, but using a command prompt run with administrator privileges, I managed to kill both processes and now sculpt is back to normal.
