I am currently trying to animate a character and encountering a problem I’ve had several times in the short period I’ve been computer-modelling. I’m mostly okay with armatures, but every so often a bone won’t work as it should, and, instead of rotating the part of the mesh it is assigned to, it scales it, rotates it a little, and comes away from the mesh, as opposed to remaining in the centre. This seems to happen most often with toes and fingers.
I set the armature up by parenting it to the mesh and then weight painting, if that information helps. Attached are two pictures hopefully illustrating what i mean.
Well I finally found a post on this. The solution is that my vertices were assigned to more than one bone. Very simple, but then I’m very new at this.
are you sure he didn’t just stub his toe? I do that alot. That’s what your picture looks like happened.
