Some pointless fun compositing

I think it looks pretty cool. But I would like to hear what you guys think.

Pretty cool, Weirdhat. There might just be a little too much light as the hand morphs into the stretch, but very good.

I must get into this kind of Blender work, looks like fun. Now whereā€™s that damn vid cameraā€¦

Sonix.

Cool,

but the extensible arm could be more chromy ā€˜a laā€™ terminator II :stuck_out_tongue:

Stefano

Hey, Weirdhat, you looks like Harry Potter!

Hey weird hat, i got a question for you.

how do you blend your Cg with your real. I mean, i can do compositing, but, how do you do the soft transition from your sleve to the metal? no hard line

Somehow I feel that mr. Weirdhat is going to be famous some day
Keep up the good work man

wicked as always

Hee Hee, good stuff Weirdhat!!!

ā€“
Brian

very good!!

you blended the book?
and then there was a shot of you with the real book on your hand after the streching?
very nicely put togetherā€¦

or, did you use the force again?

.b

hehe so you did it!

Itā€™s very very cool, but as S68 said it would be cooler with a chromy look :d

Keep those ā€œfun compositionā€ coming, they are awesome!

Yeah, good point.

It looks pretty chromy to me, not sure how I could make it more so.

No I donā€™t.

Well, I had two planes with the background video, one in back of the blender arm and one in front. But the one in front had a blend texture for the alpha. That way anything behind it smoothly fades away into the background in the middle of the picture.

Right.

That too.

Thatā€™s really cool!!! I should do something like thatā€¦ it seems more fun compositing just because of you.

Yep, I agreeā€¦ I have a feeling that Mr. WeirdHat is going to be famous someday!

WeirdHat RULES!!! Yeah!!!

haha, that video ownz, I thought it was great, Iā€™ll have to try something like this.

It looks pretty chromy to me, not sure how I could make it more so.

Yeah, it is more chromy that it looked the first time I saw it, maybe toning down Spec and adding a probe of your room as envmap?

Stefano

Hah! Good job WeirdHat. Wish I could do that.

How long did this take to do?

Very cool!

The shadow of the book ā€˜instantlyā€™ appears on the couch when it reaches your real hand, though.

Weirdhat can you help me? I canā€™t seem to make the effect of the CG arm, what did you use to accomplish this? Especially, what animation settings did you run to make it extend like that and retain the position on your arm?
Thanks.
