I´d recommend to you that you walk through the gallery session of this forum and another sites such as http://www.cgtalk.com to get some inspiration.
So (if not most) important than technique is a well trained eye for details, and those sites are good to train yours. For good tutorials on Blender, a good shot is http://mediawiki.blender.org
This animation that you showed us would fit best as an animatic, not a finished animation. Maybe now you can take this as an initial stage to your future completed project.
In future threads that you may open, it´s not polite to make a post just to make the thread go up in the list. The forum moderators usually don´t take it well.
Sweet job mate; I would tweak the baseboards and the ceiling. I also would choose different textures/colors for this scheme. I really like the book, the chair, and the frames! Very nice! Otherwise, good luck modeling; I know i’ll see some really good stuff from you in the future!
