My tutor had the dvd with these songs/vids on it and lent it to me.

Some of them are quite jaw-dropping, simply for the complexity of everything thats going on at the same time.

My fav is pipe dream. the actual version is much cooler though.

Your right zdk1, the actual version is much cooler. I bought the DVD a couple of years ago, after seeing Pipe Dream on Tech TV’s Eye Drops program.

The creator of Animusic, Wayne Lytle said, they developed an in house software called Midimotion, which uses algorithms that enable Midi music to drive the animation.

I’ve been fooling around with the python script blendedmidi, to see if I could do something that might be on the same track. I can’t get the script to work though.

I’ve posted a mini tute based on what I’ve learned about it that should get you started.

I’d like to see it start developing again.

Thank you rwv01 for the tutorial. I will try what you suggest to get blendedmidi to work. I’m running OS-X, so I usually have trouble with any python script I try to run.

The entire Pipe Dream video is available at archive.org.

Moreover, there is a realtime version for newer ATI Radeon Cards on that page. 8) 8)
