It plays back fine in Blender, but I can’t seem to find out how to get the sound to show in the exported movie file after animating. Is there an extra sound settings panel I’m missing?
In the render settings when you have selected an movie format as the output you will get an Audio tab as well as a Format tab. Select ‘Multiplex Audio’ (I assume you are using blender 2.49 as you don’t state otherwise)
I have a “format” tab and a “stamp” tab, but no “audio” or “video” tab. And I am using blender 2.49. They aren’t moved somewhere else or minimized; I really don’t have those tabs. Maybe these features are excluded from the OSX package.
Can another mac user confirm this?
You won’t get an audio or video tab until you change the output type on the format tab to “FFMpeg” That’s the only output type in Blender that lets you mux sound and picture. (Full Disclosure: I’m not a Mac user, but I believe this behavior is consistent across platforms.)
