Source Code Solution File

Hi everyone,

I’m currently learning C++ and thought it would be a good idea to study the source code of a program I know pretty well.
Now, my HDD with Windows 10 on it just died and I only have Windows 7 for the moment. I downloaded the source code and tried to get a solution file for Visual Studio but I can’t get it to work.

Does anyone happen to have a version of the source code and solution file that works with Windows 7? Really any version from 2.63 and up.

Thank you in advance!

Aria

Why not upgrade your win7 to win10 ? Its still free to upgrade from win 7?

What do you mean with a solution file, for building a Blender version or branch?
Here some info for building Blender for your self.

Yes, that’s how I did it with the other one, but this I have a lot of files on and am scared to loose any. I’d want a clean install of Win 10 on a new hard drive (this one’s also not the youngest).

Thank you but unfortunately this doesn’t work, I’ve tried.

If am not wrong then the support for building blender, with windows lower than w10, has stoped.
Maybe you can still build the old versions, not sure.

Yes, I think so as well. That’s why I thought maybe someone still had a source code + .sln backup.

you can download all old versions here
https://download.blender.org/release/

edit, the source code is here in repositories

Thank you! I’ll try that.

Edit: I’ve gotten further than before, so thanks.
I get a few errors, trying to solve them.
