March 26:
Now the game works smoothly on a 3Ghz processor :stuck_out_tongue:

That sky looks really cool! I also like the atmosphere you made.

thanks, but I am having trouble making the sky box seamless since it’s hand painted in photoshop. any ideas how to fix that?

whoa! :o

very impressive…absolutely bueatiful.

the sky box was very well done, and the planet looks good too…especially the atmospherical effects.

 Impressive!

About the skybox, did you do it from scatch in Photoshop? (I generally just make it on Blender, that way I make sure it looks seamlessly on the skybox later).

If you did it frist in blender, you should check the lens value of your camera, a value like 20.5 will produce pretty seamless images (although there could be a more exact lens value you could use, I just deduced it by eye ;))

If you did it entirely in photoshop… oh well, then just put one image next to the other and try to fix all the differences at the borders.

In any case… I just love the skybox! It makes it all look so… Sci-Fi…

Thanx, and now you know why i was struggling with animated UV texture yesterday

Fred_Pyo: I did a basic skybox (starfield + planet) in blender, the 6 piece fits perfectly but after i painted the nebulas and the atmosphere, there is visible seam at the edge of the planet. I might have to repaint the atm later.

I thought of this while making my own textures. If you take half of one sky box then the other that goes next to it, you can retouch, blend and smooth the area where theres the seem, Then take a copy of that seem that you fix, split them and/or flip them, then paste it onto the original where you copy from. Which would be where the edge will meet. If position right, it should blend right into the original image. Since it’s only pixels you linings up.

i cant download it, when i click the link it takes me to a random page filled with weird looking letters and symbols, i can download other blender files though, weird

Those letters are the .blend file. Because some servers allow you to download it directly, and some see it as a binary file to be readed. SO right-click on the link and do: save as.

Very nice. I like where this project is going.

Yes, nice, Oooo, ahhh, But none of you is helping him answer his question, which I often see lacking on this thread.

wood you like to work for me as a staff i need staff for my gaming studio you like a pro in blender. i like a beginning in blender go to intermadiate i in the midde . but in gmax i intermediate well blender is faster and easy i got use to it all i know is gmax now i know blender it started in the ge engine  now i know how to model will basic modeling a character

I assume by “him” you mean me and by “his question” you meant the name of the game?

UPDATED: can someone PLEASE take screenshots for me? I’ve been busy, very busy…

wow!, this is very cool

nice controls, good skybox and plant
also the expolsions and missles are awesome

Yes you and by question I ment how to fix the seems from showing. I hope you understand everything I said, think of it as putting two piece of paper together then draw on it, take it back apart then switch sides.

Oh yes i am very clear on what you meant. But it seems any texture in blender GE has a seam, possibly a MIP side-effect?

as seen here: http://mpan3.homeip.net/personal/seam.PNG

i am using a 9700 Pro.

You did remove double on the cubemap right ?

Guess you did, I still notice a shift in a few places, the effect are great by the way, you going to have to make some tutorials.

I think I know how to get rid of those lines, make each edge of the cube out of cubes, cause it doesn’t show lines on my demo.

Mpan3 !!! Found the problem, the problem comes when rendering your scene in Blender with OSA on, The image that renders often bleeds one pixels inward, If you take a very close look at the edge, select it and then move the edge of the uvmap one pixel over, you will see it disappear, You either going have to fix the bleeding in photo shop, render without OSA, Clip one pixel inward or retouch the edge with photoshop. Game is coming along great, hope you finish it.

Really nice mpan3, if the game is as good as the graphics it will be fantastic.
