Speed sensor using python

Hello guys!

I’m trying to make a racing game using blender, but i don’t know how to use python to do it, i just want a script like the speedometer, but i want one that modify a property.

Maybe the things that i say is ununderstandable, so i’ll try to tell what i’m trying to do:

I’m tryin to make a car that only turns when its in speed, but to do it, i need something like a speed sensor that modify a property or something like it…

for example:

sensors ! controls | actuators

speedsensor------python-------property1(assign)

upkey---------------and--------------motion(force50)

leftkey---------------and------------------motion(torque3)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . ./
. . . . . . . . . . . . . ./
. . . . . . . . . . . . ./
property1(=2)

leftkey---------------and------------------motion(torque5)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . ./
. . . . . . . . . . . . . ./
. . . . . . . . . . . . ./
property1(=3)

leftkey---------------and------------------motion(torque7)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . ./
. . . . . . . . . . . . . ./
. . . . . . . . . . . . ./
property1(=4)
