i’m animating a helicopter which is moving along a path: will the helicopter move at a constant speed? ive rotated the helicopter slightly at corners of the path using keyframing but cant tell whether this has altared the speed at which the object moves cos I want the speed to be constant. i have slowed down the speed by moving the speed curve further to the right but kept it within 0.0 and 1 on the y axis. I also straightened out the curve instead of it being an s shape because this seemed to make it go slow at the beginning and end of the animation.
If you make Interpolation of the IPO “Linear” speed will be constant. Same if you delete the Speed IPO.

A Path is 100 frames long by default. If you move the right-hand point of the Speed Curve to X=200 and Y=2 so that @ X=100 the Y=1 then what you’ve effectively done is slowed the curve down by half and the object will take 200 frames from start to finnish.
