I’m having trouble making a part of a model that is going to be 3D printed.
What I would like to do is make a sphere out of ellipses, something like in picture below.
Can anyone help me whit this? Is it possible to do it using Cell fractal, or is there some other way?
Here, converted to .svg in gimp and then imported as a urve in blender.Took 3 minutes.
You will get better results from using inkscape or a similar program.
sphere.blend (523 KB)
Perhaps I explained it badly, the object should be something like a wireframed sphere, like in this image, only that faces should be shaped like ellipses, if you get what I mean
You’ll have to make a regular sphere I guess, then model the ellipsis and use them as particles in a particle system added to the regular sphere?
I guess this might do the trick. Thanks!
Like this perhaps? Doable, some flaws maybe.
One blender command - Warp.
