Hey all,
Well, I had a bit of time (finally) to play around in Blender. I was searching through the pdf tutorials i had saved and found BgDM’z env map tutorial, so i decided to give it another go.
At first i had the Hemi light at 1, but it was far too bright and made the sphere look like a pearl, which was cool, but i prefered it with the light toned down a bit.
Anywayz, whatchoo think?

Blend on, and blend well!!!

Nice one! Glad to see my tute is getting some good use.

The only problem I have is that the sphere is too bright as compared to the background. Did you play with the COL slider in the material window? Also, try playing with the Value slider as well. This will tone down the reflection a bit. And also, don’t forget about the HSV settings as well. These can help tremendously to get that nice metalic look.

i agree, it’s nice, but a bit TOO white/bright
