Im needing some help on making spidermans suit… how do i go about drawing it and putting it correctly on him?
Your wip thread looks good…what specifically are you looking for? It looks like you did a good unwrap and all…
^ i just painted with vertex paint in blender… i didn’t do any sort of wrapping… my question is about wrapping… i cant never get it to work for me… any sugg?
^ thanks… ill see what i can do… i mite be back tho
do you think i should UV the whole body at once to align the weblines easier?
also should only the weblines be the uv, and the colors be just a texture?
just need an opinion
hey… im gettin the hang of the uv’s… but, where do you suggest making seams? because I’ve seamed the whole body, and saved the UV layout as an image so I can paint over it… but do you have to do it this way? its hard to paint and draw the weblines when everything is seperate and rotated a different way…
help
The only “correct” seams are ones that you find easy to work with. You could have the whole lot as one UV mesh, but some of the vertices would end up getting so squashed up when you unwrap them, that it makes sense to make seams so you are painting on good sized segments. Generally, you should have a front side and a back side. The face should have a mesh of its own. In the UV editor you can use scale, rotation etc to position your mesh pieces to where you are comfortable… you can even resize them to suit yourself. You can also take shortcuts, for example, if you flip the right leg mesh in the UV editor, you can position it right over the left leg mesh. That way, both will be painted as one leg.
Reckon you should kill this thread though. You’re doubling up on a perfectly good WIP post and that’s the one with all the god pictures in it.
