I’m using the 2.54 beta release. I am trying to get an animation of a spinning globe, but I want the globe to be tilted at an angle. I can spin it just fine around it’s local Z-axis, but when I record the keyframes, it records the changes to the global X,Y,Z axises (is that the plural of axis?), and when I extrapolate the graph, it end up falling lower and lower, until the globe is lying on it side. How can I achieve this?
Thanks
Animate the globe around the gobal z axis then add and empty to your scene, parent the globe to that empty (Ctrl+P) and rotate the empty to the angle you want the globe tilted.
Thanks, but how do I move the cursor into the globe without moving the globe?
I want to move the cursor into the globe. The orange dot, how do I move it?
If you are using blender 2.54, select the globe and use Shift+Ctrl+Alt+C, select ‘origin to geometry’ to move the origin to the centre of the selected object. In blender 2.49 in the Editing / Mesh panel select ‘Center New’
Aha thanks a lot!!
