About year ago I posted my spinning wheel showing it off. I created the printer parts using blender.
It has been revised and updated to be much better now. The whorl is different and the wheel can now be double drive. It also has optional double flyer setup. https://file.io/JWQQpZZ4Naqx
Can be downloaded, it’s in PUBLIC DOMAIN.
Might want to post some images of it to get more attention.
tbh, i can’t wait to a get a 3d printer for myself. Fixed up an old seized fan motor (just needed some grease) and i want to print some parts to turn rotation motion into linear motion.
They are great. I recommeneded looking at the nozzle sizes you can put on it. I use 1.0mm nozzle myself. They come stock with 0.4mm nozzle. For me, it’s about printing speed.
I am constantly amazed at what a 3D printer can do.
For example, at a recent geocaching convention in Georgia, someone 3D-printed several small bank vaults with a working combination lock, and pinstriping.
