I’m new to this forum and relatively new to Blender (have followed some beginner online courses/tutorials a couple of weeks). I think I’m getting the hang of some of the basic principles of Blender in general and modeling in particular, but I just couldn’t find a way of creating a certain type of spiral object (part of a 2D logo).
I’ve tried various combinations of the Screw modifier, twist, various curves & Skin modofier, the add-on “Add curve: extra object”, lattice, etc., but I just can’t seem to get it right. Is there someone out there that could please be kind and point me in the right direction?
Would be grateful for any clues as to how to do this.

Is it difficult to change it to a filled (2 sided material?) spiral? I think that would also allow me to shape the mesh at the start and end of the spiral a bit more to make it even more correct when viewed from different angles.

I’m slowly getting that Blender is incredibly powerful, but if you are representative for how noobs like myself are getting help here, this community has to be one of Blender’s strongest “selling points”!
But no, how people reply is still mostly up to you. I for one hate to squeeze information out of people when they ask questions, so I don’t answer if all I can post is questions, or something else bugs me in the post (text length, formatting).
There’s a tutorial linked in my signature about this, but in a nutshell:
You tell what you’re doing, what the problem is, where it’s going, and make it easy to read/understand/reply (thinking about the reader). It’s easy by using common sense for text, images to explain, and include an example .blend when one exists. The .blend is most important, and you don’t have to annotate everything you show in images, so there’s no reason to hide information by cropping screenshots.
That enables me to get interested in the post/problem, understand the problem, go through the information to find and verify the cause. Then also have everything that is needed to efficiently post a clear reply, which should actually help
That communicates the required information without you spending too much time writing and others reading it, and gives others the tools to reply with useful and clear information. You’ll find people are helpful and reply fast that way.
