when trying to get a dim halo lighting effect, the halo looks uneven and poor in apperence. im trying for a smooth gaidient look within the lighted halo. any suggestiions.
If you see a gradient then you probably have an LCD monitor. Blender calculates pixels at a whopping 32 bits per channel which is so fine that you’ll NEVER see artifacts in halo lights or any other color gradients. Get a CRT monitor.
i have two computers each with two moitors. one system has 20" LCD’s, the other has CRT’s. the problem exists on both systems.
here’s the scene… one spot light in front of the camera
size=45.00, spotBl=0.150, haloint=1.385, energy=.13, render 100%.
