ssh commandline rendering on remote host

I tried this today, but when I exit the ssh remote login (since I don’t want to be online waiting for everything to finish rendering), the remote machine stops the render, also if it was a bash shell script on the remote machine started via ssh… (all Ubuntu).

Any Helpers?

Thanx in advance!

Get to know GNU Screen.

Other than being used to provide a convenient way to run multiple terminal sessions, you have the ability to detach and reattach sessions. This way you could log in, start your render, detach, and disconnect. Your script stays running. Reconnect and reattach later to work with your output, or start another render, etc.
i think it’s already installed in stock Ubuntu, but if not, it’s part of the standard repository for synaptic/aptitude/apt-get

Thank you,

that’s it!
