SSS Shader with Translucency mapping?

Hey fellow artists,

I would appreciate if anyone can guide me towards a sss shader setup with a translucency map (UV). I would like to keep the sss as is, but change the color later on. I just need the eyeballs to shine trough more. They are black metallic spheres inside the blobs at the end of the stems. They only show trough when I increase the translucency to abnormal levels, making the whole model almost see through, which is not desirable. Any help would be really appreciated. Cheers
