Star ship in the work...

Today I started this star ship just for the fun and now I am planning to make an animation with it. I do not know what to add on it so please post some suggestion. Thank you!

Ok on my site you can see that I add escapes pods, I change the ?fire? (the thing that get out of the engine). Give other suggestion plz
Now I turned osa one. For my anim: The ship will be in a starport after it will go in a hyperspace hole (a big thing). At the other side some fighter will attack it so all the escaepod will take off and land on a planet near them.

Hey X,

Nice work so far, would love to see what you have planed for the animation.
Just one question:
Do you have the OSA turned on? If not try that, 16 is my usual preference. :wink:

And a comment:
The engine fire needs a little work, it seems to rectangle’ish and uniform, the ones on the left show it better as its a side shot, and you see its like a squarish ripple. What is the shape of your partical emmitor? I think i’ve always used spheres with just a touch or Random to make it seem non-uniform.

Also with the particals glows, if you look at them head on it really increases your glows, and at a different angle it looks duller.

Just the slight angle difference of the nacells makes the right side seem to glow more where as on the left it looks dull in comparison.

The only way i’v found around this problem is using a different type of engine instead of partical fire.

Now if i could only get the Warp plugin to work so i can have a heat warbble effect for the engine emission.

Well now, ditto to what Bapsis said about the particles. Definitely need some more work there. You have the right idea, just needs some tweeking.

As for the rest, just add some small details like access doors, pieps, etc. along the hull and it will look great.

Waiting for the animation.

Try increasing the halo size a bit for the particles. It might help to turn on or off shaded and x-alpha. I’d also try to smooth the naceles a bit. The escape pods look really nice. I can’t wait to see an animation.

OK I think I have finish this one. But if you have some suggestion they are welcome! I will begin my starport(no idea how it will look like :slight_smile: ). No I think I will make the hyperspace machine first so if you have idea for the starport! (If someone have a pic of the one of Star ship trooper, it can help). TX alot keep posting suggestion and comments! :stuck_out_tongue:

That is looking much much better, tho for a second i read the name of the ship as US Sexplorer, tho thats probably more my mind that your pic hehe. :o)

pretty cool!i been workin on makin a starship too ,but im not having much success.this one is nice,the only thing i would suggest,is more dramatic lighting from the bottom,typically starships have tons of different textures,try adding some more textures here and there,rust dust and such
