Static particle, shadows and mirrors...

Hi guys,
I must admit I’m new to blender, after some time spent with PovRay.
I was reading the Blender manual (pg 399), in the particle section, trying to make that furry purple animal, following the instructions.
But I was not able to make the ground mirror reflect the fur. I can see just the bald emitter. :frowning:
Could someone help me on this? :frowning:

Static particles aren’t raytraced. They receive shadows from shadow maps and reflect in environment maps. I think. correct me if I’m wrong.
