Statue Among Autumn

Was working on this for a bit in WIP forums, getting difficult to work with and I have other projects in mind.

Disclaimer: Any resemblance to mexico flag is purely coincidental. :stuck_out_tongue:

I would like it really really a lot, seriously, but the so much saturated green (compare it to the nice grass) looks so unnatural.
Same for the lack of color variations in the saturated green and red leaves.
Also I find the “Autumn” theme not pertinent to the status of the vegetation.
IMO it’s just a simple gray day.

Alright, forget the autumn part then haha :stuck_out_tongue:
Never thought about the mexico flag either, what a coincidence - the trees were randomly arranged.
I made some experimental variants and desaturated the trees.
Just Desaturation:

Amazing work! All done in Blender? Even the environment or it is a 3d compositing on photo?

Woah, this turned out great! Although it might look even better with a bit more contrast, but I am not quite sure about that

I did some post pro in an image editor, but other than that it’s all Blender.

Here, I contrast boosted them.

No Mist:

Mist Priority:

By the way, I seem to be getting a strange issue where the only files I can upload is when I save the image as a jpg in Paint.

By the way, which one do you guys think is best?

About all the versions you’ve posted I prefer the desaturated one with variations in post #3.
But it still has some little things to work on IMO

  • Variations are distributed by area, not by single leaf.
  • Variations in red leaves made oversaturated areas where the almost acceptable reds’ saturation turns into fuchsia.

I don’t like the mist and contrasted ones, usually cameras don’t capture so much contrast in daylight if the day is not very cloudy and dark.
I like to think at this pics as if I’ve visited this place and I’ve took a photo because I was fascinated by this composition.

due to the nature of the sapling add-on, I’m not sure how I’d get colour variation in the leaves when I’m using a texture.

For color variation:
Object Ifo (random) + Hue/saturation for difference color value of texture
Also on my opinion, it is to sharpen. & may be play with composition.

At all - cool work!

Well, guys.
I just switched to an SSD today - and forgot to back up my blend files! That means I can’t work on this scene anymore. Well, that’s a learning experience at least haha!
