Not lost, when I get to the other comp, i’ll take some screens and show them… even though I wish to get a not-so-bland ground texture. Just that I can’t really figure what’s a not-so-bland ground texture.
So, here we are, and I’m giving two more screens today.
They show the new rollover function, the grass ground, and the new
mine. Also the menus have been fixed
Does it look good?
Does not look too good, mainly because I didn’t subdivide it enough.
It shows the rollover function and the new mine(in the top corner)
hopefully these were not totally bad screenshots. :o
Your menu still looks bad. Look at the menus in some commercial games. Put your options in front of a good picture that has some relevence to your game. Or if you think you are up to it, have your menu like a splash screen in front of a runthrough of a 3d enviorment.
It would be an upkeep based system with no per-buy costs, I mean that you can buy as much as you want, but when the upkeep is too high, you’ll go in to debt.
in debt, there wouldn’t be any repairs for your troops, (when they gradualy recover hp normally) and you can’t buy anything. At this point you need to disband some of your troops, to get the upkeep lower, then build new miners and water power plants(yes, they have been changed).
OR
you can buy stuff in debt, but no repairs, and when the debt reaches a certain point, you lose, because you were dismissed from command due to your overtly high monetary usage.
Yes, yes, everyting in time. I will most likely put it in the front of an currently unused scene, which I normally meant for some kind of credits, it’s a scene which is viewed from the behind of a MG - the environment contains a sand ground and some WW2 style blockers,/ whatever is their name.
UPKEEP: The costs needed to maintain something, in this case, the game funds
So if you don’t have enough money to keep your tanks in order, they cannot be repaired, and without funds you can’t really buy new without getting more debt.
If the debt get’s too high, you may be dismissed(game over) from command, because you used huge amounts of money.
EDIT: and the money would be reduced at frequent intervals, not when you buy new units.
Thanks, but I think I can do it myself, just the same way as with power plants and mines currently, a python script is executed once in a while and it gives you more steam. I just need to make them so that it reduces overrall funds.
Just one comment to make, sice this is a rts the models should be low poly and i can see thats what your going for. But, when I looked at your havester model I saw 160 vertices used on wheels. Thats is quite a bit considering the whole model is around 200 vertices.
And, once again, two new screens for you to love, hate, gag, enjoy etc.
a group following the player… like shepherd tending his flock
Tank headed for the enemy base
Currently, the tanks are rather dumb, because when issued an attack command, they head out for the enemy factory, and if they come by something that blocks them, they’ll just make a swift turn to not get stuck at the point. Well, this suits me just fine. But i’ll need to change the collision sensor to a near sensor… otherwise they might collide with invisible barriers…
And well, they tend to stack into each other especially when in large groups, and they tend to push each other . This is a kind of a problem, even though I think I can fix it.
