Stickman Rpg - Update: 24 Jan

I saw video on you tube awesome nice…

I saw it on youtube remember when I asked how to do toon shading lol

Finally some new improvements.

Sorry for the long brake. xD

First beta Enemy.

I still can’t get the toon shading to work…

hey, nice game  I could help you make this game if you like. I can do python, modeling, texturing, logic bricks, etc etc etc. Just tell me what you want  And if you want online, I am trying to figure it out right now…

I’d love for it to be a cartoony RPG that can just be played on the computer but can have internet if you want it! It looks very good. Can’t wait to see what it progresses to.

@arbiter410
Try it with a cube and post a .blend. I’ll see what’s wrong.

Just 1 more time: :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. Make a cube
  2. Duplicate the cube, and leave it on the same spot.
  3. Size 1 of the cubes up a bit.
  4. Go into edit mode (Tab)
  5. Select all verticles (A button)
  6. Press Crl + F and click “Flip Normals”
  7. Go to Shading (F5)
  8. If there’s a material on the cube, delete it. And add a new one.
  9. Colour the biggest cube black

Be sure that you are in Textured mode.

Hope it helps.

Or if your in GLSL, use color ramps, as they are easier to set up, dont increase the poly count, and can provide better results.

Toon.blend (286 KB)

If someone with a crappy vid card plays the exe, will he see the lines when you’re using Glsl?

no, you have to have GLSL for it be able to work. We could also use a toon shader(not the black outlines, i mean the shading)

Now it works but only the top shows…

and I don’t think its a lighting problem because if it was then only the outline would show.

arbiter: Actually, it is a lighting problem. A few things you should do: Make the outline only have one texture(you have it set to two. That is what mats are) and make it shadeless. Also, try adding two hemi lights, one pointing at each half.

I finally was able to see the screenshots! Looks awesome! One thing I don’t know if your planning or not is that it would be awesome to be able to pick up different weapons.

Sure, JayDez. We could probably imlepent that in sometime.

how do I use colorramps?

Ever played an Rpg game? xD Yes, there will be different weapons, spells and probably armours. Which you can buy from the money you get with slaying monsters.

I also had the idea to let speacial weapons be earned by tournaments with other people. =] And a very rare weapon for the 1/3 winner(s). :stuck_out_tongue:

nice game and also where would I start learning python for the BGE?

What about this? http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=128526

But let’s not make this a thread about questions over other stuff. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes I have played RPG games but sometimes the only way to get weapons is at stores or special storage places. It would probably be a lot of work to get a weapon pickup/drop system going but that would be nice to.
