Sticky coordinate : where did it go?

What ever happen to the sticky texture mapping feature? Has it really been replace with the uv projection map modifier? I want to do camera mapping like cinema4d does with projection man. Does blender has some that is equal to that feature?

I am creating a landscape scene and want to project landscape textures to the objects. Can someone explain in detail which feature will be better; uv mapping or uv projection mapping.

What does your texture look like? Are you needing to project from the horizon, or from top view?
