still life

This is my first attempt at modeling a scene. It started with the onyx ball and base, which is on my entertainment center at home. It is gray with cool, marbled streaks going through it. It turned out very close to the real thing. Then, I created this scene around it and now it’s more yellow. I corrected this a little in my image editing program, as you can see in the images.

The screen in the back I wanted to be more translucent, but can’t seem to get it right.

the cloth I was wanting to look like it had a pattern woven into it, just effecting how light hit it, I think it is very close to what I pictured.

I cheated and used no lights at all. It is render in yafray, method: full, quality: high, depth: 4, cdepth: 1, emit: 1.5 and GI: 2

The yellow tint is probably from the world colors (real and blend) a dark gold to a darker (almost black) gold.

I would love to hear your thoughts on my first project.

that bad, eh?

;0)

Its not ‘that bad’ no  You’ve got something that could potentially be pretty cool if only we knew what the original looked like. Basically what I’m saying is that this is really a bit too abstract to comment on. If you were to add more elements we’d have a better idea of what’s going on. Keep it up!
