Hi there!
I’ve made a simple object (a furniture like shelving) on sketchup online, cause until i learn more in blender, is easier to me for modeling. So then, when importing it in stl format (no more choices in sk online to export) to blender, fusing faces to avoid triangular ones, and making some smooothing and bevel, when i try to apply some texture with image texture node, nothing happens. I connect nodes rightly, like other times, but doesnt work. I guess I’m not doing something related to mapping stl format or something like that, but I’m not able to solve it or find some tutorial to learn.
Could anybody please help me?
Thanks in advance!
The stl format does not incorporate information on materials, let alone textures. To be able to use the textures you have to create new materials and if you can also a new UV mapping of the model.

Oh…could be materials…I’ll check it. Thanks a lot. I’ll also search about U/V mapping.
Regards!
There wasn’t U/V map! I put it and already works. Thanks a lot, friend!
A few months ago I worked with someone who used SketchUp, and he could save 3D models in Collada .dae (Blender can import .dae format), but it’s in the save menu and not in export. But I don’t have SketchUp and can’t confirm how the file save options are now.
Yeah, that’s the way to obtain that kind of files. Problem is that the free sketchup online only allows you to export in STL.
