I’ve been working on this scene for a while and I’ve managed to get it to an acceptable level. Many different renders (fog, smoke, chimney, extra foam…), many simulation crashes and bugs, I’ve come this far. Unfortunately, I don’t know how long the simulation took in total or how long the render took in total, but the whole project took 10 days.
But the estimated time is AMD 5900x and RTX 3080 Simulation (mesh + particle + foam) 1.5 days, rendering 2 days. Good days.

the camera closer the the water would’ve had made it look a bit more cinematic!
Actually, I wanted to render with the other 2 camera angles, but I had to simulate in a much higher resolution to eliminate the errors.
great simulation! the power of mantaflow you also got some foggy water/drops coming out from the waves! Are these just particles from the sim. or u added this effect later? good job!
first ı convert foam to mesh and use for gas flow object. ı rendered separate. and copied manuel on after fx
nice work bro, really nice
Thank you man
The simulation and rendering all looks super good. But I think the static, somewhat distant camera really doesn’t help the final piece. A more dynamic and believable camera angle would have really helped the final piece appear more cinematic, as mentioned previously, and would have just added that bit more to the overall quality.
But even so, it’s really nice work!
thanks mate thanks for the tip
If this to you is merely “acceptable” I would be HONORED to see what you think is WELL DONE or amazing, because this already is stunning. Looking as though it was taken out of the beginning of some sort of studio made animated movie. Your work is extremely well done and I love the many different styles the camera shows the shot, a true aesthetic board made with the art of a masterful blender user! GREAT WORK
I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
thank you bart
I’m testing new method and try more detailed simulation…
