STP to STL converting

Hello

Im struggling with using a converted STP model. Faces of the converted model are uneven and have weird shapes. I tried some TUTs from YouTube to eliminate Ngons, but it doesnt help too much. Is there any other way professionals import STP models to blender? Picture of the faces im talking about below:.

Alas, no, no matter what way you do, it’s just the conversion from a NURBS based model to a polygon model that causes this.
I’ve used HeeksCad and FreeCad and going from STP to STL always gives this sort of result.

okay thank you, is the freecad good way to see a STP model in a conference room? I have paid account with AutoCadLT only

Best regards

Try the Clean Up function of the blender.

https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/meshes/editing/mesh/cleanup.html

Excessive cleaning can also cause you to lose your details.
Also, if it is difficult to clean all parts at once, you can separate them. (If it is detachable)
If there is some damage, you may need to rebuild or restore it.

You can try the Addon (paid) but I’m not sure if it will work to solve the problem.

Either that or Heekscad is fine, they pull in the STP nicely, I don’t have a particular favourite as they both seem equal in results.
