Straightening out Edges without changing topography?

Ok, I have a model I am working on that has a lot of curving edges in it; I know that by pressing S+Y/Z/ or X you can straighten out edges along the X/Y/Z axis… but what I would like to know is if its possible to do this ‘without’ it effecting the topography of the model itself.

If you look at the first and second link, the edge loop is jagged and in the second image changes direction. What I would like to do is straighten it out, without it affecting the topography of the model.

Edge 1 - Side View
Edge 2 - Top view

I would do a bunch of vertex sliding… select one by one and press g - g and slide it where you want.

Not totally sure what your talking about but my suggestion is to try this… I’m going off the side view btw…

  1. Move the edges loop close to another edge loop with the shortcut gg.
  2. Press gg again and then E and slide it back. It should evenly move back.

Also a tip for noobs… Instead of relying on always use scale 0 on axis… u can scale 0 on the z axis if u change your transform orientation to use normals. It works better without moving and scaling the verts so much.

I just tried this out and you have to press f to use the flip function… What I made is pretty similar to your topology so Ya let me know if it works
