Strand particle rendering comes through mesh

Hi,

I’m currently working on a small project and I’m rendering a house built on a field of grass.

The grass is made using blender’s particle system. My problem is that when I render the image, the grass in some places is rendered over the house. I can’t figure out why it is doing this. If anyone can help me that would be great or suggest a work around.

I’v experimented with render layers the only problem is if I render the house and grass separate and then layer the house back on top of the grass, it doesn’t blender with the grass at the bottom of the house.

I’m Currently using the latest 64bit Graphicall version of blender 2.5 for OS X and Using OSX Snow Leopard.

I’ve attached a jpg and circled the problem I’m referring to.

Thanks

RE:
I’ve been playing around with the camera settings and found two ways to get rid of this problem.

  1. Increasing the clipping distance is the best way to fix this and works perfectly.

  2. The second way I found to get rid of the problem was to scale the ground up, but this causes a number of problems.

I still don’t know why this problem occurs though.
