Stranded

Wich one do you think got the best lighting. I used HDRi from sceneskies for the lighting. One is a sunset and one is a daytime.

I like the top one best; the bottom one feels very artificial to me.

I agree the composition works better on the top one too.

For more information on why I think that : The top one has separate colors for each grounds : Vivid green for foreground, Strong brown for the ship and blueish white for the background. You can clearly read what is going on in this one even from afar ( trying to see your image from afar can really help to see if its readable). Even though I prefer the top one I would say the shape of the boat is still not too readable, I find it sad that it point towards the camera because it makes the shapes of the boat quite weird, maybe from the sides it would look cooler I think. The bottom one on the other hand, the colors blends too much. If you pick the colors of the lit boat and the greenery just behind it you will see it is really close in a chromatic wheel, too close I think, making the shapes and the overall composition not too readable. A sunset ligthing would work if maybe the boat was in the shadow like the first one or the background is in the shadow making the boat pop. Thats it for my analysis ! Hope it helps

Good work

Your ship reminds of the same one from Lost Via Domus, it’s a video game
