Strange artifacts in cycles when importing animated mesh from Maya

Hi, I’m having a little problem with a character that I animated in Maya that I am trying to import into Blender for Cycles. I have some strange artifacts in Cycles.

But it is apparently fine in Eevee. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’ve tried exporting it as an fbx and an alembic.

Also seems to be working fine in Maya’s Arnold renderer. I’m attaching a blend and a maya 2020 file. Does anyone have any suggestions?


If anyone tries to export it from Maya to Blender as fbx, it takes a little while to import. Alembic is fast though.
