Strange camera shifting in 3D view

Hi,

I hope it doesn’t seem to silly, but I have a strange problem when positioning my camera. I’ve locked it to view, and…

It’s shifted to the right. This is a really inconvenient problem, especially when I split the screen for node edition. It happens an all scenes of this project, but not on the others. I’ve surely made an unintentional shortcut or something, but I could not find anything about this in the manual or even in stackexchange.

Thank you very much!

Why have you not supplied a .blend file for us to look at ?

It’s shifted to the right
Explain. What should the camera be pointing at ? What settings are you using so that it does point in that directions. You say it shifts, how, and when ?

Excuse me, english is not my native language. Maybe i’m being unclear.

Yes, the camera rectangle in the 3D view is shifted to the right compared to a new file.

Normal start-up file: the camera rectangle is in the center of the view

And in this file, the camera rectangle is at the right side

I hope this is more explicit. Thank you very much for your attention

Does this only happen when you “Lock camera to view” or is it whenever you look through the camera perspective? It appears to me as if you’re looking through camera perspective, but have shifted the view like what happens when you hold Shift-MiddleMouseButton but without “Lock camera to view” turned on.

You’re N properties panel isn’t showing, so not sure if that is turned on or not.

The “home” key will maximise and center it in the workarea.
This is a basic interface command, maybe taking a look at the manual helps

@lsscpp great thanks! look, usually i carefully read the manuals, but actually the “home” key on mac laptops is a quite weird shortcut. However, i’m still wondering about how this could happen. thx again!
