Strange effect when rendering

I’ve been getting a strange effect when i render (see link below for image), I’m not sure why it’s doing it so i was wondering if any one had any idea?

It is set to be the colour white with a red background and although there are textures, they are not set.

Thanks
Chris

Heh the classic noob mistake - you have two meshes in the same spot - just delete one and should render fine . I think almost everyone does that when they start out :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Actually, it’s the same mesh with the vertices duplicated in edit mode. Don’t know how how did it but it might take a little longer to fix.

OK I didn’t download the blend file but even so just hotkey W - remove doubles - fixed . Just make sure you pay attention in future to how the spin function is used - BTW I did this with my first mesh and found some neat possable effects - i.e. laying different UV maps to same coordinates (may be with differant alpha channels -if this doesn’t make it crash)- maybe a test to try out in future .

Thank you very much for your help and ill keep in mind all that you all said. It’s working perfect now.

Thanks again
Chris
