This is my first post at blenderartists
I’m having a problem, not sure if it’s lighting or rendering related, because i am just beginning to use blender
so i created a small scene where the background is black, and there is a large gray plane.
Above the gray plane, there is a lamp. Now, on the plane, the light is showing as strange rings
i attached a render
I think I saw something about banding issues being addressed. Don’t quote me on that. What you are actually seeing is an optical illusion caused by having a narrow range of values ( low energy point lamp ) distributed over a large even surface.
(edit) ok, I checked into this, I knew there was something I was forgetting. In the render buttons, over on the left, there is a setting for ‘dither’. turn this up to two.
it works in blender 2.49
but is there a way to do this in 2.5? Or am I missing something obvious?
EDIT: Never mind, I found it under post processing. Thanks!
post processing? Finally! I’ve been looking for dither in 2.5 for hours.
