This is my planet.It is pretty simple now but I need your ideas on what could make it better.Also I’d like to have little holes in the ground where red steam or something comes out, are there any good tutorials on steam or smoke. I’d also like it to be kind of foggy.I’ll need a tut on that too.
UPDATE!! I had followed a tut for smoke and then by the end of the tut I had changed it so much it looked nothing like the tutorial. The tutorials smoke was way too dense, so I deleted and tried myself and got much better results.
In order to have holes you have to make holes:
Go to face mode.
Select 4 neighbouring faces.
As in 1 | 2
-------
3 | 4
And NOT 1 | 2 | 3 | 4
Hit k (knife tool).
The third option is the one you need, dunno the name.
draw a circle around the center of the 4 faces.
This will create new faces.
Delete the center faces and extrude inwards.
You can hit ctrl-R to have new edge loops around the hole to create slight elevation or other kinds of detail.
